To Mother...

My Heart’s Garden

In my heart’s garden, flowers grow,
Which brighten summer days
Like little tapers all aglow
Shining ‘cross life’s way;

And sweetest of the blossoms there,
A gift from God above,
Dear Mother, fairest and most rare,
You shine the light of love.

A rose and quaint forget-me-nots
Are tokens that I bring
In gratitude for all you’ve done
To make my own heart sing.

But I could never put in rhyme
The words that tell the maze
Of golden memories in my heart—
The love I’ll have for you always.
